The Harwich Wildlife Project

Young people tell us that they want more wildlife activities in Harwich and many would like to start a career in the animal, wildlife or conservation industry but struggle to find the opportunities to develop their experience locally.

The Harwich Wildlife Project is working to provide wilderness areas and activities that give young people the opportunity to increase their knowledge and participate in volunteering opportunities. There are always new activities to get involved in and so far they have included:

1. Setting camera traps and bat detectors and analysing the footage,
2. Developing wildlife habitats in Teen Talk's urban garden,
3. Carrying out bird surveys for RSBP studies,
4. Wildlife theory workshops to develop knowledge of native species.

When and where?

Thursdays, 6.00pm to 8.00pm
Fridays, 1.00pm to 3.00pm
